Last weekend my partner and I had the good fortune to fulfill a dream (and a birthday gift), and take a Whale Watching tour (remember we have only been in BC for less than a year...). Orca, Dolphin, and Eagle have always been a part of my soul as spirit guides. I have never seen any of them "live" (other than the at the Red Sea Dolphin reef in Eilat, Israel) but always knew that they carry specific messages related to my path.
Living in BC, I have since seen my share of beautiful Eagles, and I was super excited for the possibility of seeing "real" wild Orcas (finally!!).
We began the tour greeted by a beautiful Eagle sitting on a nearby tree, as if wishing us well on the journey. After about 1.5 hours (!) of sailing (and shifting of internal organs due to Zodiac-induced bumping), there they were: a pod of five gorgeous Orcas!!!! They were magnificent!!! This of course was the best birthday gift ever (or so I thought…).
Following a sweet visit with about 20 cute seals, we were happily on our way back to shore, tired yet satisfied. SUDDENLY our zodiac stopped abruptly, and the guide shared that she couldn’t explain this, but we were SURROUNDED by 200 to 400 Pacific White-Sided Dolphins!!!!! They were everywhere! Jumping, playing, saying hello to all 12 of us on the boat.
I was speechless and began to cry with amazement and gratitude for this unexpected beautiful gift from the universe!
The universe speaks to us through its many messengers, including the animals. In shamanism it is taught that when an animal or the representation of it appears in an unusual manner, there is a specific message there for us. Dolphins reminded us the importance of PLAY, of pure JOY, of worry-free grasping of the very moment juiced up with the thing called LIFE!
Thank you Dolphins for the extraordinary gift of your presence!!!
