January 20, 2009: the planet healed somewhat on that day, as billions across the globe emanated strong vibes of renewed hope, blessings, and faith in a new leader to guide us out of oblivion.
Barak Obama’s inauguration ceremonies almost resembled a pilgrimage to Mecca…Celebrations fit for a renaissance of a true Messiah!
“A flesh and blood savior has come our way!” “Change and Hope!” were the underlying narratives from those who were elated in his election for presidency… A shepherd to lead us safely to green meadows of abundance and optimism!
The energy all over the world was electrifying on January 20, 2009 – we welcome this young, charismatic, confident captain representing a brand new era of acceptance of one another in unison despite history of hatred and discrimination.
Yet a good leader, much like a wise teacher, merely opens the door to a new level of consciousness and tolerance; it is up to each student to enter on their own volition and carry forth the light…
Earlier today I was sitting at a neighborhood Starbucks. As usual the place is packed with chatter and people brightening their day by connecting over a hot beverage. An elderly woman walked in and ordered her drink. When it was ready I overheard her ask loud and clear: “Can I please get a container? Can you give me a container?” She of course meant a tray to carry her drink… Yet I could not help but think of her interesting choice of words. Don’t’ we all need a container? We are tired and wish to know that we can soon rest in the arms of a sensible yet consoling nest. Respite in the realm of tolerance and peace with ourselves, each other, the animals, and all that is life…
Is our container to be found on the outside or on the inside of our inner being…?
