“Change is always good for you"- I recently heard a spiritual speaker says just as i was going through a major change in my relationship, my work, and home life. My ego-mind felt like interrupting by protesting rebelliously: "No, change sucks!" Yet something deeper and wiser within me resonated with this truth...Change indeed is always good for us, as it implies growth on a spiritual-soul level that exceeds our immediate physical reality. Just ask a newly hatched chick, able to discover new territories after experiencing a possibly frightening breakage of her warm comfy shell; or a cocoon now equipped with wings to soar to new heights as a beautiful butterfly. No matter how much we may argue or resist, transformation is always healthy...!
But change is also often taxing, stressful, and scary. Not many of us enjoy moving beyond our cozy comfort-zone into the unknown, especially when at times it feels like walking in pitch darkness - What if we bump our head onto sharp objects? What if we fall, or injure ourselves? Would there be a net to catch us...? These questions indeed are valid yet they indicate a lack of trust in a higher intelligence that is way wiser than we are. As experience taught me, a leap of faith is always met with a supporting net wider and bigger than what I could have ever created or planned with my own limited human brain.
As humans, surrendering and trusting the process is one of the simplest yet most difficult tasks. Yet just as it takes rain and sun to create a rainbow after a storm, could there also be a divinely inspired plan in what appears to us as chaos?
When we resist the change, the universe in its wisdom (or really the God-spark within us all) ensures that we “get the message.” First it does so by gently tossing small pebbles our way to grab our attention, and then if we continue resisting or overlooking, the pebbles may turn into big painful rocks making the message louder and more obvious!
Be it through a sudden dis-ease that forces us to slow down, a break up with a lover, or a loss of some kind – all painful circumstances that, if we shift our perception of them, are in fact windows of opportunity to reflect and examine our inner world, belief system, and relationship to our self, others, and the Divine intelligence that is God/Spirit, Source. As was pre-determined by our soul through a sacred contract made before our current physical incarnation, we came here to experience and to learn through expanding our awareness and level of consciousness.
Are we awake yet??
The Course in Miracles teaches us that: "You are a miracle capable of creating IN THE LIKENESS of your creator...Everything else {all that we fear} is your own nightmare and does not really exist." When we dare live our lives in partnership with Spirit, we are then able to co-create the life that we desire (given that what we desire is in agreement with what we need and is for the highest good of all).
I reflected on this notion earlier this week as I sat by the river on one sunny afternoon. I was struggling with finding answers to questions on a few personal and professional matters. As I know that on a Quantum Physics level all the answers that we seek exist already within our energetic field, I sat there for a few moments with my eyes closed and allowed the answers to emerge through my breath. When I finally opened my eyes, the answer was swimming right in front of me! A simple yet profound intuitive message came in the form of a cute bold and shiny head surfacing in and out of the water – it was a seal! “Just flow…” I heard as an inner inviting voice. No matter how many times I encountered seals since moving to British Columbia, their sight always makes me smile with comfort. I feel a deeper level of connection to Mother Nature especially whenever I am in the presence of animals in the wild. “Swim with the river with ease" was further offered, "No point pushing it, rushing it, or resisting the stream. Let go of your grip, search, or expectations. Feel the freedom of being carried away through faith. You will arrive exactly where you need to be at exactly the right time…”
I closed my eyes for a quick second to savor the moment, and seal disappeared underwater.
As I thanked Spirit and Seal for the reminder, I felt something that was weighing on my heart lifting off, giving space to an expanded sense of trust knowing that all is well...
An affirmation then came to mind that i wish to share with you here:
"I fully trust in the process of life and the genius of the universal wisdom. I go with the flow effortlessly as I know that everything is unfolding exactly as it should. I invite my Spirit-self to lead the way in co-creation of blessings for myself and everyone around me."
Happy flowing!
