We are all ONE
"We are all One” Barak Obama proposed in acceptance of his new role as a leader of the modern world. And I could feel this message resonate and being carried by the wind throughout the planet, ringing truth just as it did the day after September 11, Katrina or any other recent disaster, when people set aside all personal agendas and came to the aid of one another in spirit of unconditional love and altruism.
This of course comes naturally to our domestic companion animals, and attests to one main reason why so many of us choose to share our lives with animals: In their authenticity and conditioned-free acceptance of us, we also learn self acceptance. In their grounding and calming of our inner being, we re-member with the part of ourselves that is intuitive and all-knowing.
What to the animals is second nature, we humans must re-learn: Tragedies almost always serve as catalysts for extending ourselves to one another and prioritizing what is truly important. Global elation does the same thing: It shares the promise of connection, of service, and of our inter-connectedness. On January 20th we had a taste of ecstasy marked by glimpse of new possibilities. Pink, the color of HOPE (and heart energy) was in the air… Billions that day were in alignment with the notion that we are all one, despite seemingly outward differences in our body costumes. W E A R E A L L O N E
We are all unified at our essence, at our spirit soul and cellular level. We share the same foundation of Be-ing at the nano-level of our existance... underneath the clothing of our physicality, we really all are the same.
Then who decided that humans are superior to all other forms of life???

Human Rights = Animal Rights?

It said “Human Rights = Animal Rights!”
Wow, I thought: this is really breaking a precious Taboo in our society!
I took a photo of it and smiled to myself. It pleased me to think of the stir this may cause in some people.
I thought of all those who may resist and abhor this statement as “foolish,” “radical,” or irrational.” I thought of all the animals that would welcome a paradigm shift. Those who are unloved, in laboratories, or on their way to be consumed for the sake of ‘servicing humanity’…
In ancient Egypt people used to be buried along with their deceased dogs or cats out of respect for their companionship and service. I then thought of all the animal lovers who would agree with the above statement of equality. Who would attest to the enhanced quality of health and wellbeing that their beloved animals provide for them. I thought of all the beautiful animals that are being comforted and admired by loving human companions, and how they themselves know how to remain connected to their source in unconditional gratitude despite being mistreated at times.
Can we as humanity enter a new dawn, a paradigm shift that speaks of equality and respect for all life? One that suggests: Human Rights = Animal Rights...
Or moreover, an in-depth understanding that when one inflicts pain on another living being- human or animal it makes no difference whatsoever- in the eyes of source energy and the precise laws of the universe, one actually ends up hurting oneself...

Can you see beyond this fog?
I write these words today, January 20, 2009, a day of history making and resurrected hope. Today we are presented with a choice, a challenge if you may: Will we notice only what is mirrored back to us, a state of life suggesting uncertainty and impending financial gloom; or will we see beyond the surface, past the temporary circumstanced fog, and trust in the invisible force, a higher intelligence, that is always working alongside us…
And will we remain asleep and detached from the collective, from one another, hiding our authentic self behind a concealing veil of pseudo-living in our search for happiness and More; or would we step up and out of the haze let go of our longing for excess and greed, reach out to those who have much less, and shed some aspects of what we hold on to that no longer serve us in our current situation…
And so here’s my provocative invitation to you:
Can you still hold on to your dreams, aspirations, and core essence despite all real or perceived external threats to your wellbeing? Can you still see with utter clarity that you have emerged into this physical life to be in a state of bliss and joy, to accomplish greatness, to connect, to be of service to yourself, others, and the animals in your sacred journey…? Can you still see this with your inner eye despite the temporary fog??
If so, ask yourself (as I ask myself daily):
What does it take?
What must I become in order to birth this vision into creation?
Am I willing to let go of control for a desired outcome and release it to the light?
Am I willing to trust that I am the author of my own story and thus I can count on the divinity within me to provide me with solutions when I ask for guidance?
Am I willing to ask for guidance??
I hereby make the decision to come out of whatever fog I may be living in, and embrace life in its fullest. No matter what the consequences may be, I thus commit to each and every moment of joy, bliss, pain, or grief that may present themselves in my path; with humility, compassion, and tenacity for the sake of growth and of being of service for the highest good of all!
Join me if you wish, I welcome your company!

Obama, our Shepherd?

January 20, 2009: the planet healed somewhat on that day, as billions across the globe emanated strong vibes of renewed hope, blessings, and faith in a new leader to guide us out of oblivion.
Barak Obama’s inauguration ceremonies almost resembled a pilgrimage to Mecca…Celebrations fit for a renaissance of a true Messiah!
“A flesh and blood savior has come our way!” “Change and Hope!” were the underlying narratives from those who were elated in his election for presidency… A shepherd to lead us safely to green meadows of abundance and optimism!
The energy all over the world was electrifying on January 20, 2009 – we welcome this young, charismatic, confident captain representing a brand new era of acceptance of one another in unison despite history of hatred and discrimination.
Yet a good leader, much like a wise teacher, merely opens the door to a new level of consciousness and tolerance; it is up to each student to enter on their own volition and carry forth the light…
Earlier today I was sitting at a neighborhood Starbucks. As usual the place is packed with chatter and people brightening their day by connecting over a hot beverage. An elderly woman walked in and ordered her drink. When it was ready I overheard her ask loud and clear: “Can I please get a container? Can you give me a container?” She of course meant a tray to carry her drink… Yet I could not help but think of her interesting choice of words. Don’t’ we all need a container? We are tired and wish to know that we can soon rest in the arms of a sensible yet consoling nest. Respite in the realm of tolerance and peace with ourselves, each other, the animals, and all that is life…
Is our container to be found on the outside or on the inside of our inner being…?

Animals and the Law of Karma
I went for a walk in a nearby part earlier, taking in the crisp January air. I was watching a beautiful Golden Retriever puppy jumping up and down by his very preoccupied human, who did not seem to notice his dog's attempt at communication. I continued to observe their one-sided dialogue for a few more moments, reflecting about the potentiality and preciousness of this profound moment of connection and pure bliss that is completely missed by this person. The puppy continued his efforts at grabbing his indifferent human's attention by foolish little puppy games. I could almost hear him scream: "Look at me! Play with Me! Can you not see that I am trying to make you laugh?!"
Granted, perhaps his human was preoccupied or troubled. Yet I thought to myself: He is completely missing this beautiful furry being of delight that is calling upon him to play, to move, to BE IN THE MOMENT, to run carefree on the wet grass... His human awoke from his sleep-walk only when his dog pooped on the grass. He then chased the dog in fury, yelling and screaming...
The Law of Karma:
Many great teachers speak of the Law of Karma: Every action has a reaction. What we put out there we receive back multiplied. Every thought, every action is emitted through us in energy form and recorded in the atmosphere, which we then take into our own bodies.
This implies that to be fully awake to our infinite potential, we are to train our brains to conduct what Deepak Chopra calls Conscious Choice Making: if we want more happiness and joy in our lives, then we must plant the seeds of such qualities by asking ourselves whether a given thought or action support that which we are seeking or hinder it?
Animals are great teachers of the Law of Karma: living in the moment and being deeply tuned in to the source within (the same source energy we all originate from), animals remind us of our yearning for harmony and peace. They demonstrate this law of by simply being purely authentic and reflecting back to us like an efficient mirror the state of our own vibration: what we put out there as our energy, mood, or intentions, often times we can see mirrored back to us in the eyes of our companion animals. They lovingly let us know through their behaviour, their state of wellbeing or their health when we have gone astray from our truth, when we are too busy to notice them, or when it is time to re-tune for a quick loving play and pause our troubles for a moment.
As if to demonstrate my point, while I write these very words my cat, Pfizer, decided it was now a time for her to step on the keyboard, nevermind my own deadlines, and gestured for me to toss a toy her way for a quick game of chase. I want to keep writing for as long as the inspiration graces me, but one look into her green eyes and I am re-minded of what is truly important in this very second... And so please hold on, I will be right back :-) ********
